The Top 10 Brand Redesigns of 2022

From the end of 2021 to the beginning of this year, we heard whispers that we might see a slowdown in brands looking to redesign. Little birdies at different studios were signaling that big brands weren’t booking refresh work, some citing belt-tightening inspired by the economic slide as well as post-COVID supply chain issues. Not going to lie; the rumors were slightly worrisome. Brand refreshes are something I love to bring to you, the reader. When a brand, especially a big one, tunes up its identity, it provides plenty of fodder and those all-too-essential clicks.

The rumors never materialized. In 2022, we saw several inspired brand refreshes, even from some of the biggest CPG brands around. Maybe competitive pressure superseded concerns over a decrease in sales. Regardless, we saw plenty of new packaging and refreshed visual identities from brands big and small, so many that trimming the list to just ten proved more difficult than last year. In 2022, many more agencies are represented, and we even have two cannabis brand refreshes making an appearance, a sign that the cannabis space is growing in size and maturity.
