DoubleDouble Coffee’s Packaging Will Give You The Energy You’re Searching For

Minimalist packaging has been hot. Sure, it’s good in some senses as it’s easy to dissect and often quite aesthetically pleasing, but there’s magic when a brand decides to ditch what everyone else is doing a forge a path for themselves.

DoubleDouble is a coffee company based in Australia that’s forging a path of maximalism in its packaging designs. Each blend of coffee was given its own personality through its packaging, and each is beautifully inspired and absolutely unique. The color combinations are unconventional, too, creating designs that make an impact in the best possible way.

If the packaging doesn’t give you a jolt of energy, hopefully, the coffee will.

DoubleDouble is a coffee company based in Perth, Western Australia. For this brief, we sought to adopt a maximalist approach to the title elements of the labels, giving each blend its own custom type treatment, while retaining a consistent/considered approach for the paired back typography that forms the basis of the label system and brand identity.

This translated to our colour selection too, opting for unconventional tones that clash with each other for maximum shelf presence and a hint of weirdness. We were heavily inspired by archival clip art from public domain sources, ephemeral imagery and weird illustrated moments from a bygone digital era.
