by The Dieline on 03/17/2021 | 2 Minute Read

Suck on This taffy chews are a new-to-market snack with playful, punchy colors, packed with sophisticated flavors that will take you back to the first time you took a bite of saltwater taffy. Made with pure fruit purées and real sugar, these artisan treats aren't pretentious and might even make you blush with copy that is as whimsical as the brand name, Suck on This!

Owner Chantal Lambeth (chef and food stylist) owns a vintage taffy pull and pre-COVID-19 dreamed of having a cart to sell her vintage treats. Pulp+Wire took inspiration from the swirling, gentle, steady motion of the taffy pull represented by the colors swirling together on the outer packaging.

The agency also designed two universal canisters, one for the regular taffy chews and a second to demarcate CBD varieties, then paired with a detailed label. That created a unified brand system allowing for a new, lively flavor to be developed and produced at any time. For the standard line, beautiful swirls of dark and medium purply-blue harmonize with orange-pink and white as if to mimic the harmony of flavors in the taffy chews themselves. For the CBD line, the color palette swaps out dark purples for greens and gold with the anchor color of rich orange-pink unifying both. Each canister was personalized with a color-coded label for different SKUs, dazzling with foil and even more cheeky copy. Flat illustrations of the candy harken back to old-fashioned confections but updated with modern flavors, like mango lime chili, packs a packaging punch.
