Ginger Monkey Design takes us way, way back with their sharp Olde English bottle for Dublin’s Whiskey Reserve. The studio gave the sophisticated Irish liquor brand a shiny vintage design that looks it’d fetch a hell of a sum at a charity auction if it weren’t newâ well, 22 years new.
The design is complex and attention-grabbing without feeling overwhelming, using a variety of elegant serifs, but obviously giving the logomark the most loving detail. Swirls and curlicues dance all over the brand name, providing light accents to the surrounding descriptions with impressive embossing on the white seal. It’s all elevated with a shiny gold icon depicting the Salmon of Knowledgeâ which I thought was just a fun Wicker Man reference, but turns out it’s Irish folklore! This antique-inspired design is so well done, you might be looking at the 22 on the label thinking, “Wait, how long has this been 22?”
