Windex Introduces Bottle Made From 100% Ocean Plastic

Windex, an SC Johnson company, released a new bottle made from 100% recycled ocean plastic, something SC Johnson claims as a first for the home cleaning brand. Since 2015, all Windex bottles used 100% post-consumer recycled waste, but Windex Vinegar is the first in a line of bottles Windex plans to make from of ocean plastic.

In addition to the bottle now being made from ocean plastic, Windex Vinegar is also non-toxic and cruelty-free, and they expect to ship as many as 8 million bottles to retailers this spring, including Target and Walmart.

To promote the new bottle and raise awareness of the ocean plastic crisis, Windex has teamed up with Bloomingdales, installing a window display in the department store’s 59th street flagship location in New York City, an aquarium filled with recycled-plastic-made sea life. Bloomingdales is also offering Windex Vinegar through the retailer’s “Good for the Globe” pop-up shop which raises awareness for environmental and social issues featuring merchandise selected by guest curators.
