Dairy is great but, well, the body doesn’t seem to love it in a lot of cases, especially over time. Did you know most of us will reach some degree of lactose intolerance as we age, and isn’t that fun? Just a few years ago, that knowledge might make most of us feel stuck looking for soy and almond milk-based products to help us reach that same level of indulgence, and let’s be real—it’s just not the same. But vegan alternatives to dairy are actually getting shockingly better over time, and thank god for oat milk, which does a fantastic job of tasting more or less like the real thing.
Oat milk is a standard for lattes at this point, but if you’ve never tried it in chocolate, it’s well worth a shot. Chocolate companies are catching onto this potential, making it look just as desirable as regular degular chocolate. If you’re a fan of indie comics, you’ll probably love Freytag Anderson’s work for vegan chocolate company Otherly, who decorates their fascinating flavors with intricate illustrations straight off a highbrow graphic novel shelf. The wrappers’ art presents a real feast for the senses, and that’s before we even get to the chocolate.
