Drinking tea is ritualistic, and this tea packaging offers a refreshing shift away from graphic-heavy branding toward something far more considered.
For Songchuan Mountain tea, Linshaobin Design creates a structure that transforms the tea bag into a sculptural form inspired by a traditional Chinese tea bowl. The color palette stays within soft, mineral-like neutrals, allowing the translucent paper to subtly shift in tone through heat-pressed areas that create delicate, shadowed impressions reminiscent of footprints in snow. Its restraint through structure, material, and touch as the primary language, turns the act of opening tea into something unexpectedly modern.
“Song” is a high-end restaurant with a cultural foundation rooted in the Song Dynasty of China, catering primarily to affluent clientele. The tea it serves originates from high-altitude tea regions above 1,000 meters, meticulously crafted through manual charcoal roasting. This design aims to create a uniquely elegant packaging that aligns with the refined aesthetics of the Song Dynasty, meeting the discerning tastes of high-end consumers.

The core of this packaging design lies in structural innovation, where precise die-cutting techniques transform the tea bag into the shape of a “Chinese tea bowl.” The tea bag is free of ink printing and crafted from heat-pressable, color-shifting, and translucent specialty paper. Upon heat pressing, the compressed areas become thinner, darker, and more translucent, creating an embossed texture for text and graphics. This tactile effect can be perceived both by touch and sight, resembling footprints in snow—natural and unadorned.
The overall style is simple, soft and restrained. It conveys a sense of warmth through mild materials and exquisite craftsmanship, and replaces straightforward expression with ample blank space, realizing an organic combination of materials, structure and the aesthetics of the Song Dynasty. It allows consumers to perceive the restrained and elegant tea charm of the Song Dynasty during touching and using, which fully reflects the brand culture and high-end quality.
