Nearly 25% of the groceries purchased in the US are private label. Which, you know, kinda makes sense when you’re staring down another endless war, rising fuel prices, and an inflation ticker that steadily rises without pause. It’s precisely why so many private label brands have committed to beautiful packaging, whether it’s Walmart, Target, or even your local neighborhood CVS.
But could we see more private-label beer here in the US? Of course, this is something that already exists through retailers like Costco, Aldi, and Trader Joe’s, but would any of us be all that shocked if, say, Walmart made a bigger push into the land of hops and suds?
That’s why our July 2026 Pack of the Month is such a fascinating glimpse into fanciful “what if” territory. Instead of making copycat beers like Modelo, perhaps they should do what Thirst did with its design-led redesigns for two of Marks & Spencer’s (M&S) beer lines.
