Mid-Autumn gift packaging that reaches beyond traditional red, gold, and floral motifs seems to stand out just a bit more.

Lung-Hao Chiang takes CITY9’s Moon Blessings straight into science fiction, covering the box in silver foil and geometric panels that look like spacecraft hulls, control consoles, and retro visions of lunar travel. At the center, a circular observation window frames a metallic rabbit floating above a golden moon, cleverly sending the rabbit from Chinese lunar folklore into orbit. Instead of taking a simpler route and decorating a mooncake box with cliché festival symbols, Moon Blessings turns opening the package into a mission.
