If so, you know Goslings, the 200-plus-year-old, family-owned beverage brand from Bermuda. Its legendary Black Seal rum is a requisite ingredient in that drink with island roots—legally, in fact. In 1991, the company obtained a trademark stating that any cocktail with that name must get made using Goslings Black Seal rum and ginger beer.
