The typography and design, created by Katrina Romulo, for Local beer is absolutely irresistible. The typography’s rounded edges, floating nature, and lighthearted aesthetic wonderfully represent the light beer within. And while the typography is quick to impact, the light yet bold color combinations make a statement and truly stand out the shelves overcrowded with dark, grungy hues.

Local is a delicious light & cloudy low-calorie beer from London – with 35% fewer calories than your average beer, Local is a 3.6% ABV with tropical notes of melon, apricot, and papaya. Local’s mission is to create delicious, healthier, light beer alternatives for the 75% of 17–35-year-olds that make healthier choices when selecting food and beverages. The goal was to launch a new product in the beer category while maintaining the visual appeal of modern healthy snacking. I aimed to create a light, fun and approachable visual identity which has helped Local secure taps across the London pub scene with an aim to enter the retail market this year.
