Oikos Redesigns With a New, 'Forkable' Look

When it comes to yogurt, spoons are the utensil of choice. Sure, there have been inventive ways of delivering yogurt before, but Oikos has unveiled a greek yogurt with fruit so thick they are calling it “forkable.”

Feeding consumers through their eyeholes, Oikos' new Blended Greek Yogurt packaging comes from Danone North America Brand Design and agency Beardwood&Co., with lush, whole, and juicy fruit, or in the case of vanilla, a bright flower, front and center. Ingredients boldly stand out amid a backdrop of creamy, wavy yogurt. The brandmark comes set in a strong sans with softer secondary typography that balances the bolder elements of the packaging. Outer packaging follows suit, as do the larger quarts.

The yogurt maker's redesign is part of a complete brand repositioning with new product reformulation and is a move away from the "floating spoon" concept of the past.

"Oikos has been delivering nutritious and delicious taste across our portfolio with disruptive high-protein innovations from Oikos Pro and Triple Zero," said vice president of Greek yogurt and functional nutrition at Danone North America Surbhi Martin in a press release. "With Oikos Blended, we will continue to challenge Greek category conventions with a new innovation loaded with more fruit, supported by an omnichannel 'Forkable' marketing campaign that is designed to let Greek yogurt fans know it is okay to toss aside convention – and the spoon – when it comes to healthy snacking."
