Nubank is personalizing the banking experience.
When customers sign up for a credit card, they will receive this trippy Welcome Kit, unlike anything we’ve seen from banks before. Designed by Art Labore and Nu Design Team, the illustrated card by Cezar Berje, the illustrated card that comes in the luxe purple envelope features a gorilla wearing VR goggles, amongst many others, that blurs the line between the seriousness we’ve come to associate with banks. Everything adds up to make a new customer feel like they’re getting a luxury welcome from a bank looking to the future.
Nubank, also known as Nu in Mexico, is a digital bank based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, which has become the largest fintech in Latin America and one of the most innovative companies in the world, according to the 2019 ranking by Fast Company.
Founded in 2013, Nubank rapidly became the best bank in Brazil according to Forbes, and in 2019 it expanded its operations to Mexico City in hopes of creating a technology, data science and design hub. Nubank is recognized for its technological innovation and its 24/7 customer service. With no physical bank branches, our challenge was to create an extraordinary and memorable experience for their new users in Mexico.
The production was made by Historias de Papel. Each kit was created by hand with attention to detail and with the highest quality standards to create not only an experience for the user but also a successful outcome.
In collaboration with the Nu team, we created a Welcome Kit as a unique way to deliver the credit card to new members. This included different branded elements, such as an instructional card for activating the credit card, a postcard with a personalized illustration, a sticker and a cellphone card holder. Each element was thought in detail to create a unique and memorable experience from this kit. We carefully chose and crafted each element to ensure the users would get a special and unforgettable experience from the kit.
