Ahead of New York City’s Pride March, which takes place June 30th and is considered one of the biggest in the world, creative agency Design Bridge New York designed a commemorative Smirnoff No. 21 bottle, as part of the vodka maker’s “Welcome Home” campaign promoting inclusivity. This year’s NYC Pride March also marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, a pivotal event in the history of the LGBT rights movement.
“The new Smirnoff No. 21 ‘Welcome’ bottles continue the brand’s annual tradition of limited edition Pride bottles and have been created as part of Smirnoff's ‘Welcome Home’ Campaign, which supports inclusivity and equality for all. The bottles feature award-winning Smirnoff No. 21 vodka on the inside, and on the outside the brand label has been replaced with ‘Welcome’ in six languages – English, Spanish, French, Italian, Russian and Mandarin – to welcome the global LGBTQIA+ community to New York for Pride, and to remind everyone that Pride is a home where everyone is welcome. Design Bridge also wove the colors of the rainbow flag into the original label to support the Pride messaging.”
“This special bottle design has been used in the brand’s campaign videos and will be prominently featured on Smirnoff’s Pride March float this year. While the bottles are not currently available for retail purchase, a limited number have been made for the celebrations at Smirnoff’s House of Pride pop-up experience in downtown Manhattan, which takes place between 26-28 June, to help spread messages of inclusivity and diversity.”
