Adobe Firefly Levels Up at MAX London With New GenAI Features in PhotoShop

Published

At Adobe MAX London, the software developer announced significant changes to Photoshop. Unsurprisingly, these new features are powered by Adobe’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) engine, Firefly.

The latest version of Photoshop beta now includes Text to Image powered by Firefly Image 3 Foundation Model, available directly within the app. Adobe describes Text to Image as a tool that shortens the distance between a clean slate and compelling content for users at all levels, from creative professionals to novices.

Reference Image was also shown off at MAX London, which takes a user’s existing image and generates new visual content. If an Adobe user already has an existing image they want to use as a reference, this new feature allows them to skip crafting a detailed text prompt to approximate it. For example, if the Photoshop user already has an image of a delivery truck they want to reference, they can feed that into the application for Firefly to use.
