Base Saigon partnered with Marou Chocolate for AGI Open to have 100 top designers interpret the “here and now” theme in a chocolate bar wrapper design
Three collections of the chocolate wrapper designs will now be auctioned off to benefit Saigon Children’s Charity

In 2025, the AGI Open took place in Southeast Asia for the very first time. AGI 2025 Vietnam was hosted in Ho Chi Minh City this past November, where more than 20 top designers from around the world gathered to share ideas, stories, and inspiration with Vietnam’s next generation of creatives. As part of the talks, workshops, and exhibitions that comprised AGI 2025 Vietnam, Base Design (specifically their Saigon branch, BaseSGN) partnered with Marou Chocolate on a special project to explore the 2025 theme: “ĐÂY – here and now.”

For the project, 100 AGI designers each designed their own individual Marou chocolate bar wrapper in response to the theme. “Đây” means “here” in Vietnamese, chosen for the 2025 theme to reflect and further establish Vietnam as a cultural center.

Charlotte Beach

Charlotte Beach is a New England expat with a cat named Joan Cusack. She’s a former professional soccer player turned writer, sign painter, and vintage clothing connoisseur now living in Los Angeles. She studied writing and visual arts at Brown University, and is currently finishing up the legendary Sign Graphics course at Los Angeles Trade Tech College. The daughter of two newspaper reporters, Charlotte has a penchant for retro handcrafts and snappy sentences.
