You could argue that the tart, femme, Day-Glo style of ‘80s artists like Patrick Nagel has never gone out of style, but it’s felt especially hip in recent years. Any Duran Duran fan will tell you: there’s just something about an illustration of an almost scarily hot woman all done up in neon that hits the pleasure centers!
China’s 7654321 Design adds a modern edge to that classic look with their irresistible work for WHISKYNAUT’s special bottle for the indie rock band Young Dan. “Dan” translates to “elixir” in Chinese, and the Nagel-esque label art depicts a slender, pink hand with long fingernails releasing a stream of elixir in what feels like a fun nod to Death Becomes Her. The bottle’s wrapped in gorgeous paper covered in neon pink dots and sealed with a little plastic band, turning the whole unboxing process into a visual feast.
