THIS IS IT! DIELINE Awards 2026 Late Entry Deadline Ends Feb 28

Sun Crystals is a natural sweetener with just five calories per packet. It’s a blend of sugar and stevia. The primary green color indicates its natural/healthier-for-you attributes. I really like the sun-made-of-sugar logo, which ties in perfectly with the name. It’s a sweet, simple way of saying what the product is at a glance – without the typical ‘sugar pouring from a teaspoon into a cup of coffee’ imagery. The packaging was designed by TDA Advertising.
Admittedly, the green and white color scheme for natural alternative low-cal sweeteners is going to be hard to own – at least four other brands use this combination (Truvia, Steviva, Fructevia, SweetLeaf, etc.). By contrast, the artificial sweeteners Splenda®, Equal® and Sweet-n-Low® each have the good fortune of ‘owning’ yellow, blue and pink respectively as their brand colors. It’s looking like the natural contenders are having a hard time changing consumer perception that anything besides green or white-plus-green would seem natural.
