Put That Buzzed Brain to Good Use with This Trippy Beer Label Puzzle

A good beverage can turn into a real journey, albeit not always the wisest, cleanest one. Who hasn’t ended up somewhere strange and unrecognizable after a stroll through the proverbial maze of a few beers? Brethren Design Company alludes to these wild potential twists in their label for Slice Beer Co’s Lush Labyrinth IPA, an elegantly trippy hedge maze design.

The real inspiration behind the label, however, is much more innocent than bacchanalian. After years of working with companies like Slice, the studio’s titular midwestern brothers Jordan and Jeremy Coon “like to think of beer labels as cereal boxes for adults, something to gaze over while enjoying a cold one,” Jordan said over email. Turns out their innovation is putting inebriated brains to good use: “We have heard the locals are peeling the label and completing the maze—which is super cool.”
