Creative Direction - steering and guiding the creative and conceptual vision of each project, from both aesthetic and technical perspectives

  • Inspire and direct Brand Design team members through all stages of the brand identity design and collateral development processes
  • Conceive of creative concepts that reinforce and express the brand’s strategic direction
  • Express a unique perspective, drawing from a wide array of reference images and inspiration points to arrive at a powerful creative vision
  • Maintain a keen awareness of what’s going on in the world of design today, as well as what came before, in order to anticipate the future and design for it
  • Create bespoke brand worlds, combining marks, typography, color palettes, photography direction, patterns, and textures to create a robust visual identity
  • Apply the visual identity to design a wide variety of collateral objects to express the brand’s perspective and experience, and to achieve the client’s aims
  • Extend our identity work in the digital realm, ensuring our brands have a digital presence befitting their other expressions


    Client Management - presenting creative work, nurturing client relationships, and building trust, pitching new projects

    • Foster and maintain client relationships both within and beyond presentation settings to build a steady pipeline of business
    • Reflect on the ideal way to approach each design presentation, tailoring the structure and contents as needed to achieve the best possible outcome and bolstering the story with strategic rationale as appropriate
    • Present work succinctly while telling a compelling story, expressing ‘the why’ behind the design decisions, and ultimately addressing the problem to be solved

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design or equivalent
    • Minimum 10 years design experience at a branding firm or creative agency
    • Minimum 3-5 years experiencing leading and managing a design team
    • Deep knowledge of all aspects of branding and graphic design, including visual identities, print collateral, communications design, environmental graphics, packaging, digital design, etc.
    • Well-versed in both print and digital production and experience managing external vendors
    • Experience working and collaborating with strategists and other creatives, and ideally environment and interior designers
    • Proven ability to grow and foster/mentor young designers
    • Prior experience leading new business pitches
    • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite for Mac, Google Workspace, and MS Office
    • Professionalism in all communications and exchanges
