It seems that polyamory—being in a relationship with more than one partner with all parties on board—is having its mainstream moment. HBO’s Succession opening episode has one of the protagonists, Shiv Roy, proposing an open relationship on her wedding day. More recently, articles in The Atlantic and The New Yorker explore the surge in consensual non-monogamy, at least for well-off Brooklynites.
Winemaker 19 Crimes is hip to the zeitgeist and has released a limited edition “throuple” wine just in time for Valentine’s Day in the UK, which is definitely not Park Slope. The red wine features a spiked heart set in front of strings of barbed wire in a specially-sized 1,125ml bottle. The non-traditional size sits between a conventional 750ml bottle and 1.5l magnum and is enough for a trio to enjoy three 125ml glasses of wine together.
