Many celebrate their moms on Mother’s Day by gifting flowers or their favorite meal. Seeing an opportunity to combine both, fried chicken slinger KFC partnered with floral delivery firm Proflowers to create a unique bouquet for mamas that love their roses served up with the Colonel’s 11 herbs and spices.
The “Buckquet,” which, according to KFC, is a portmanteau of “bucket” and “bouquet” inspired by celebrity couple names like “Bennifer” and “Brangelina,” is a kit that includes a Side Lovers meal, vase, KFC vase applique, a dozen roses, and eight skewers used to assemble the chicken elements of the Buckquet. The kit also includes a card to tell mom how much you love her.
“A regular bouquet of flowers is a good gift for mom, but a Side Lovers Meal and Kentucky Fried Buckquet is a finger-lickin' good way to take Mother’s Day from a 10 to an 11,” said KFC CMO Nick Chavez in a press release. “With three sides, four buttery biscuits, and the unforgettable—truly—fried chicken and flower table decoration, everybody is sure to get something they like to eat, and mom is sure to smile.”
However, showing mom some Kentucky fried love will involve a few steps. For starters, the Buckquet is only available for order online or in the KFC app and is available for pre-order May 1st-3rd and requires ordering a Side Lovers Meal. After ordering, customers will receive a code they can use to schedule delivery of the Buckquet, except for the food, which customers have to pick up from KFC, or have delivered, separately. Finally, customers assemble the kit and arrange the flowers and chicken themselves.
But, hey, it’s the least one can do for mom, right?
