Oreo celebrates its 110th birthday this year, and it is starting the celebrations with a new cookie inspired by the joy that comes from blowing out birthday candles.
Confetti Cake Oreos are double stuffed with a confetti creme and chocolate cake layer and topped with even more confetti. The packaging is equally festive. The bag has a shimmery and metallic finish, and each corner is a different colored gradient. A giant, cake-like Oreo confetti cake cookie occupies most of the front, with six unique candles placed along the top. The wordmark and “110th Birthday” are executed birthday cake-style with a frosting-like texture. Overall, typography is playful and festive, in line with the overall theme and feel of the packaging.
“For over a century, Oreo has brought fun, playful experiences to fans, and we will continue to do just that as we celebrate our 110th birthday,” Sydney Kranzmann, U.S. brand manager, Oreo, said via press release. “Our celebration is inspired by the magical birthday moment that spans generations and cultures."
"We are so excited to celebrate 110 years of milk’s favorite cookie by encouraging fans to embrace this birthday magic no matter their age and never to stop wishing," Kranzmann added.
The new confetti cake Oreos will be available nationwide starting January 31.
