Inspired by your stereotypical, farmers market-loving, hippy-dippy kombucha lover, Very Polite Agency's design for Arlo is funky, sharp, and nonconformist. The logo itself will transport you to a world where authenticity overrules all. Plus, see those two little eyes at the top of the can? They see you, but what they want to see is you sipping an Arlo while your feet are propped up, and your hair is a bit tousled, hippy style, of course.

A social beverage, a conversation starter, an icebreaker, and a straight up joyful companion to your day. Arlo is the idea that community starts with a small gesture, a word, and the simple act of sharing something good. Best enjoyed cold and really good at making new friends.

Arlo is a West Coast company that has created a delicious beverage category by pairing the naturally occurring alcohol found in kombucha, with extraordinarily delightful flavours. The drinks are created to be enjoyed and shared with good people.

When COVID hit, Very Polite Agency decided to launch a branding contest to help give back to start-up businesses struggling to navigate the murky marketing waters of the new normal. The winner of the 'Brand Me' contest? An unnamed but absolutely delicious hard kombucha that stole our hearts (and guts). Very Polite went to work to develop the concept, brand identity, packaging, messaging, photography and website. The result is a brand with personality - an ode to the funky, freewheeling, hippy dippy days of mother-earth loving kombucha drinkers that lets the flavours speak for themselves... literally - each can is labeled with a QR code that directs drinkers to a series of ice breaker questions, conversation starters and playlists.
