evian Debuts Limited Edition Sustainable Water Bottle At New York Fashion Week

If you’re a fan of Molly Shannon’s earlier years, then your first introduction to evian may have been when her character Mary Katherine Gallager told Elaine Hendrix’s Evian to go drink a bottle of herself. A truly iconic moment in film? We say, yes.
Or, perhaps you're familiar with evian because you don't live under a pile of boulders as the brand is recognized throughout the world for their mineral water sourced from the North side of the Alps in Lake Geneva.
Whatever the reason, buckle up because evian has officially introduced their first glass refillable bottle in collaboration with Soma Water and American fashion designer and DJ Virgil Abloh at New York Fashion Week, something we suspected was coming after his Instagram post in December showcased watercolored renders and a business card with the title "Creative Advisor" of Sustainable Innovation Design.
Now that it's here, we ain't mad about it.
This 17 oz limited edition glass bottle features a bamboo lid and a white silicone sleeve with evian's branding and "RAINBOW INSIDE" in Alboh’s oft-used quotations in four different colors, pink, purple, light blue and dark blue.
While this may be evian's first step towards a more sustainable brand with the hopes of creating a closed loop system by 2025, it's not their first collaboration with the fashion world. The first collaboration kicked off with French fashion designer Christian Lacroix in 2008 when he decked out a glass bottle in lace. A year later, Jean Paul Gaultier produced the Haute Couture bottles with other world-renowned designers in the years to follow like Alexander Wang, Ellie Saab and Diane Von Furstenberg.
If you'd like to get your hands on Abloh's bottle, it'd be wise of you to subscribe to matchesfashion newsletter as the limited edition bottle is set to hit the site exclusively for Spring/Summer 2019 and it'd be bummer if you missed out.via: Design Boom
