A motorbike riding, furniture making, transport designer that took a left turn into the world of branding, Andy has over 24 years’ experience translating brand values into beautiful 3D physical experiences. Since he started sketching at the age of 4, Andy’s passion has been to see his 2D creations come to life. It’s what led him to product design and why he brings a hands-on approach to briefs, always thinking about how a concept will look and behave in the real world. Co-founder of Echo and a specialist in 3D branding and innovation, Andy’s brought to life iconic structures for a diverse range of the world’s most loved brands, including Gordon’s Gin, Rexona, Smarties, Carling, Axe (Lynx) and Michelin. Andy is one of those rare designers who is as strong conceptually as with crafting the finer detail, as at home in a brand ideation workshop as with understanding the minutiae of production line capabilities. He’s constantly looking to push the future of physical design, because brands need to define and communicate a singular powerful idea for today’s fractured marketplace that works in harmony with identity design. He’s now taking leadership in designing sustainable and circular packaging, helping clients to do even more with less because he believes that a beautifully designed experience should be better for both the planet and the consumer.
