SAGA Grand Gin

The Distillerie Grand Dérangement asked Paprika to create an identity for their new gin that would pay homage to the thousands of Acadians who were deported from Canada in 1755. After thorough research on the matter, we decided on the name SAGA as it refers to the long history of oppression of this people but also its courage and resilience. The bottles show the faces of four brave Acadians that went through these events, and the box bares their stories. The bright yellow wax seal is a reference to the historical component of the project as wax has been used for centuries to seal wines and spirits, while at the same time, creating a bright contrast with the mainly black and white box and label.
