YouTuber FaZe Rug Launches Candy Brand 1UP With A Gummy So Sour It Comes With A Warning Label

YouTuber FaZe Rug has over 23 million subscribers and is known for his vlogs, gaming, and prank videos. It seems fitting that his newly co-founded candy brand, 1UP, is gaming themed and launching with a social media “challenge.”
Partnering with Cash App, 1UP’s launch product is a sour gummy challenge kit, which includes gummy candies so sour they require a "neutralizer" beverage chaser and a warning label. The kit consists of enough neutralizer powder and gummies to do the challenge twice or once with a friend. 1UP warns that folks with soft enamel on their teeth, sensitive mouth tissue, heartburn or reflux issues, or sensitivity to acidic foods should not do the challenge, which is to film oneself sucking on gummies for thirty seconds without making a face and then cleaning out the sourness with the neutralizer drink. Between May 17th and 20th, Instagram and TikTok users can win up to $500 deposited to their Cash App using the #1UPsourchallenge hashtag.
If the packaging design and warning label accurately reflects the sourness of 1UP’s launch product, then it’s a face-melting pucker-palooza. Imagery includes pools of color dripping off a skull and Rug’s melting face with an intense stare.
“When I was approached to fully engage in developing a new candy designed to be fun and social, I jumped all over the opportunity,” Rug said via press release. “Anyone who knows me knows I love candy, and I love challenging my family, friends, and fans to experience it with me. But look, this challenge is not for everyone, so we encourage you to read the warning language on our package to enjoy this drop responsibly.”
The only way to take the challenge is by purchasing the kit at 1UPCandy.com and using the Cash App.
