Bartosz Szymkiewicz not only designed the packaging for Bartosz Ferments but also created the brand. Having been interested in brewing beer, Szymkiewicz took an interest in the fermentation process. As a result, the brand is focused on all things fermented, and the packaging system is highly modern and full of charm. The geometric labels paired with equally structural typeface create immediate interest, and when paired with splashy colors and playful illustrations, the design is taken to the next level. The idea is simple, but the execution is decorative, creating a system that’s fully engaging.
I’ve been brewing beer for good couple years. In the meantime I got more and more interested in fermentation in general. First I discovered kombucha then got into lacto fermentation. At some point I realized that all the best food is fermented — bread, yogurt, cheese, not to mention wine, cider and other alcohol. And if it’s not fermented already, fermentation can greatly improve or add to the taste (sauerkraut or pickles anyone?). Hell, even cocoa beans are fermented before they become chocolate.
I’ve been experimenting with fermenting different products for some time and of course decided that they need labels. So I created this brand “Bartosz (that’s my name) Ferments” and a system of labels. This is my basic lineup but a lot more is coming in the future (like beer vinegar!).
