Tsumo Snacks: THC You Can Feel With Knock-You-Down Flavor

After analyzing the oversaturated sweets-filled world of THC-infused edibles, Tsumo broke into the market with a product that the dispensaries were missing – salty snacks served up in forms and flavors you know and love. Each bag of Tsumo is portion controlled with one serving per bag so you can crush your craving without the couch lock. These next-level delicious chips give you a lift that outlasts the bag.

We were tasked with building the brand from the ground up, starting with the creation of an ownable name. The new brand’s name needed to evoke the one-two punch of the product. So we combined words with a big phonetic impact to communicate its unique proposition: THC you can feel with knock-you-down flavor.

Our challenge was to amplify flavor while compliantly navigating cannabis industry regulation. The use of food imagery on pack is restricted, so traditional approaches to achieving taste appeal were off the table.

Bold, tonal colors, quirky typefaces, and dynamic overlapping shapes create a powerfully versatile system that loudly and proudly tells the story of Tsumo’s giant flavor.

Within a few months of launch, Tsumo made its way into dispensaries across California and has caught the attention of its Millenial target market and cannabis connoisseurs alike, as well as garnering coveted celebrity endorsement… yup, Snoop Dogg in the house.
