Single-use plastic is largely being substituted by sustainable solutions made from renewable raw materials. However, there are still areas where sustainable packaging solutions need to be pushed even further, such as in the pharmaceutical and medical industries. The use of plastic as a packaging solution for over-the-counter medicines is widespread and almost the norm.

Our tablet paper blister is made from renewable fiber raw materials, which means it is more environmentally friendly and resource-saving than plastic blisters, as no fossil raw materials are used. Especially since greenhouse gas emissions from the extraction and processing of fossil raw materials are also eliminated.

We use only FSC®-certified virgin fibers for the production of our blisters. This ensures responsible consumption of fiber materials for its production and enables us to meet the high hygiene standards in the pharmaceutical or beauty segment. Our rigid standards for quality do not offset our flexibility for customization. Due to our state-of-the-art technology, we have designed a completely new blister line that will enable us to change blister structures easily and efficiently.

We understand that the products packaged in our paper blister will be susceptible to air, moisture, and other environmental factors. We have incorporated another innovation in the tablet blister to meet these requirements. Our tablet blister is equipped with our specially developed organic coating, which is recyclable and compostable. This coating is developed for fiber-based packaging and consists of an organic composition; which can be used for fat, oxygen, or water vapor barriers.

In addition, we have replaced the familiar aluminum foil used to seal conventional blisters with a sealing paper that has our Organic Coating, which allows us to use it as an adhesive layer as well. This truly embodies a fully recyclable and compostable blister. This also creates significant advantages in terms of disposal; as the entire paper blister can be disposed of in the conventional recycling or waste stream. Either path will enable our blister to return to the planet.
