Pack of the Month: Student Project Freely Is Equal Parts Juice Bottle and Developmental Toy

Published

Play is a concept that’s seldom introduced to a piece of packaging. Even with toys, it’s a pretty straightforward business of blister packs and product photography. That’s why this Dieline Student Week project from Taymara Sanchez and Gemma Monllor felt like such a refreshing breath of air—not only did they introduce a vibrant identity for a juice brand, they made it playful. Literally.

The conceptual project also serves as a developmental toy, giving the faux juice brand a second life as colorful building blocks with wonderful cartoonish flair. We spoke with Taymara and Gemma about the designs behind their student project and how play inspired the whole shebang.

Tell me a little about yourselves. How did you both get interested in design, and what are you currently doing?
