Corn chip brand Doritos is perhaps best known for its more popular nacho and ranch varieties, but its latest flavors look to other condiments and toppings for inspiration. Looking to spice up the rest of this year’s summer cookouts and hangs, Doritos has announced Ketchup and Spicy Mustard flavors.
Ketchup Doritos isn’t entirely new; Doritos has sold ketchup-flavored chips in Canada for years, as our neighbor to the north has an enduring love affair with fried potatoes dusted with the tomato-y blood-red condiment. But this is the first time Doritos has offered the flavor in the US. Spicy mustard, however, is a new variety for the brand and combines Doritos’ spiciness with the taste of Chinese mustard sauce.
The packaging design is straightforward, featuring squeeze bottles on the front of the bag. The Doritos logo is featured prominently, and the typography lends a vintage feel, emphasizing the classic nature of these familiar flavors.
