Yummo's Wants To Make Breakfast Cereal Fun (and Guilt-Free) Again

The breakfast cereal renaissance is upon us, particularly for adults who have long abandoned the food due to its high sugar content. And we have newly reformulated cereals like Magic Spoon, Onwards, and Off Limits to thank, as they promise the same breakfast-time experience but with fewer calories, carbohydrates, fiber, and protein.

Yummo’s is the latest brand to tap into the nostalgia and sentimental feels that millennial and Gen X consumers have for sugary cereal done healthy. Yummo’s comes in three classic flavors, Chocolate Brownie, Cinnamon Cookie, and Strawberry Dream. Each flavor has 15 grams of protein and only 3 grams of sugar per serving.

Tapping into the nostalgia for traditional breakfast cereal, Yummo’s features cartoon-like graphics, including a different character for each flavor, designed in-house. Chocolate Brownie’s mascot wears shades and carries a skateboard. Cinnamon Cookie’s mascot also wears shades but is musically themed with a boombox in the background. Finally, Strawberry Dream’s character is wearing a sweatband and untied runners, huffing while carrying a 1st place medal. Other elements such as the skateboard, cereal bowl, and flower pot get anthropomorphized, while the Yummo’s logo also keeps it playful, with a bite taken out of the bottom. Given the Saturday morning cartoon aesthetic, it plays well with many other start-up brands in the beverage sector using NFT-styled charcters to hock their goods (think Jibby and Leisure).
