Riven's Probiotic Mouthwash Proves That Wellness Starts From Within

As consumers, we've grown accustomed to the oral health care industry and have accepted that it's not the sexiest of sectors. The products work to strip away bacteria and sterilize your mouth, and that's about that. They're purposeful products, and their clinical branding speaks for itself.
Still, longtime friends Fatima Khan, a dentist, and Jay Miah, an entrepreneur, wondered why the oral health and wellness industries couldn't collide.
In merging these seemingly disparate categories, the two moved away from the norm and built a product that reinforces the good bacteria already there instead of entirely sterilizing your mouth. Riven improves your oral ecosystem so it can work how it was designed to—with balance.
Riven's branding and packaging system features design from Badal Patel, and it encompasses the group's holistic approach. Additionally, because sterile and uninspired packaging systems dominate the oral care industry, Riven's blue and pink color palette instantly energizes the market. …Plus, the addition of the “I’m Alive” copy on the top of the bottle caps is a sweet nod at the fact that the product isn’t killing bacteria entirely as well as the ingredients, including a fermented lactobacillus “preservative.”
“Riven believes that a happier mouth starts with a strong biome, that when we nurture our body, we nurture our soul," said Patel of the project. "Their range of products enhances your oral ecosystem so that it can work the way it was meant to—in harmony. The visual identity system embodies these scientific and caring qualities. Art direction and glowy photography style were inspired by all the wonderful goodness and energy inside of us. Wellness starts within.”
The typography system feels youthful and refreshing, moving against the industry stalwarts like Listerine an Act. This probiotic mouthwash flawlessly merges the wellness and oral sectors, and the reusable glass packaging further highlights the intentional design process, creating something desirable and sustainable by ditching the plastic.
The packaging design is crisp, clean, and refreshing, all things consumers value, especially within the wellness space.
