Take A Look At Alec's Feel Good, Do Good Ice Cream

by Chloe Gordon on 07/01/2022 | 3 Minute Read

Much like peanut butter, consumers have their go-to ice cream brands. Often mindlessly reaching for the same flavor from the same brand as always, it's hard for new brands to inject themselves into a market so profoundly personal to consumers. Yet, Alec's ice cream is a regenerative organic ice cream brand with packaging so adorable that consumers will be convinced to let go of their usual and move on to something deliciously new. The packaging, designed by Hatch Design, is warm and welcoming through pastel hues, cheeky typography, and illustrations sweet enough to compete with the creamy savoriness within.

And as someone lucky enough to have tasted the ice cream, trust me, you don't want to miss out.

Alec’s Ice Cream is the first and only premium, regenerative-verified & USDA organic certified ice cream utilizing 100% A2 dairy — the most natural and highest quality milk that allows for easy digestion, unlike the majority of dairy on the market — and carbon neutral, regenerative organic certified cane sugar.  Alec’s Ice Cream not only tastes better and is better for you, it’s also better for the environment by virtue of their partnership with a single-source, family owned and operated A2 dairy farm in Northern California that specializes in regenerative farming practices. Alec’s best in class ingredients come together to create an ideal texture, creaminess, and flavor for the ultimate indulgent experience. Currently offering six flavors rooted in nostalgia – Tahitian Vanilla Bean, Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Salted Caramel Latte, Honey Blueberry Lavender, Mint Chocolate Chip, and Matcha Chocolate Chip – Alec’s puts an emphasis on quality ice cream that your body and the environment will thank you for.

We knew that we had a lot of key product differentiators and educational moments to communicate about Alec's Ice Cream and we wanted to take a clean yet impactful approach that would stand out on the shelf, especially because the ice cream is placed behind the freezer door. We focused on illustration as our main storytelling device to showcase the brand's approach to sustainability and ice cream as happy ambassadors of the regenerative movement. On each pint, you'll see personified caricatures of a cow and the earth interacting with each other in different ways from reading books and listening to music, to taking a nap together - which is meant to highlight the important relationship between farming practices and the impact they have on the earth. In addition, we utilized secondary locations like the heat seal to educate consumers on Alec's use of regenerative farming practices and A2 diary." - Nicole Flores, Executive Creative Director, Hatch Design
