Old Bay Is Literally Good On Anything, Including Pride

Some of the success and popularity of spice blend Old Bay is thanks to its versatility. It’s great on seafood, of course, but also poultry, Gold Fish crackers, and even as a vodka flavor. But this month, the McCormick-owned brand, led by a coalition of LGBTQ employees, is releasing a special Pride edition 2-pack of Old Bay hot sauce in specially-themed packaging.

The packaging for the Pride-edition hot sauce doesn’t veer too far off from Old Bay’s signature packaging, adding a thin rainbow ring around the top of the label. The blue bar that typically holds callouts for food like crabs, shrimp, and chicken now features love, equality, and pride. The inference is that Old Bay’s zesty blend is for everyone.

Old Bay is selling the limited-edition Pride 2-pack online, and $4 out of every $10.99 purchase goes towards the Trevor Project, a non-profit devoted to suicide prevention and crisis intervention for LGBTQ youth, with a minimum $25,000 donation pledged.
