Cult-Favorite McDonald's Szechuan Sauce Is Back, But You'll Need To Download An App To Get It

McDonald’s Szechuan Sauce is no laughing matter.
When the Season 3 premiere of Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty aired, not even the creators of the megahit show had any idea that their tribute to a piece of Mulan marketing fast food detritus would spawn hordes of unwashed masses to once again thirst for this magical condiment.
McDonald’s has now brought the mythical savory and sweet combination of soy, garlic, ginger, and vinegar flavors back three times since it first blew minds in 1998. Never one to turn a marketing gimmick down, the clown prince fast food mafioso will once again release Szechuan Sauce this March 31st.
The catch? You can only get your filthy mittens on it if you download the McDonald’s App. Once you order your nuggets, you’ll then be able to purchase up to five sauces. Hopefully, emotions won’t run high this time out with customers jumping the counter and pilfering the beloved concoction.
This time out, the classic nugget sauce packaging gets a gold background with five variants, one that says “Szechuan,” and four others spelling it out two letters at a time, i.e., “sz,” “ec,” “hu,” and “an.”
McDonald’s Szechuan Sauce is available until supplies last, so good luck with all of that.
