What Would Hello Kitty Look Like With the Pringles Mustache? There’s a Collab For That

Published

Pringles’ mascot Mr. P recently underwent a thorough glow-up that caught many folks’ attention, including money printing cultural icon Sanrio.

Now, Sanrio has announced a brand collaboration with the American snack brand for Valentine’s and White Day (a holiday in Japan and other Asian countries where folks give reciprocal gifts for the chocolates they received on Valentine’s Day a month earlier)

The Hello Kitty x Pringles collection includes plush toys of Hello Kitty and Cinnamoroll with removable mustaches, bags, totes, pencil holders, sweets, petite towels, and stickers. Surprisingly absent from the collection are potato chips, but pen holders and sweets containers get fashioned similar to Pringles’ signature tubes of pressed tuber tastiness.

The entire range is a delightful mashup of both brands. In addition to the Kitty and Cinnamoroll sporting Mr. P’s signature mustache, the new, JKR-designed bowtie logo has “Pringles” replaced with “Hello Kitty” and “Cinnamoroll.”

Hello Kitty and Cinnamoroll have a little bit of a Super Mario Brothers’ vibe, thanks to the red and green color nomination and thick mustaches. While the resemblance to princess-saving plumbers takes a little shine off the Pringles collaboration, other Pringles’ brand elements like the logo and packaging help the cobranding from getting lost in the snack aisle.

Though the Sanrio and Pringles collection is designed with the gift exchange holidays Valentine’s Day and White Day in mind, the brand describes it as a reward you can give yourself to make your days happy.

Hello Kitty and Pringles White Day collection is available now from Sanrio’s store and other retailers in Japan.
