Maluma’s Latin Heritage Reflected In Hennessy’s Latest Limited-Edition Bottle

While the city of Medellín might recall a dark past in the minds of many, it is a city that offers more than drugs to the world. You can see its warm culture in its brightly colored neighborhoods, the abundance of street art, and the natural beauty that surrounds it. That vibrancy is also reflected in Medellín’s exports, such as international musical star Maluma.

Cognac brand Hennessy has announced a new limited edition V.S.O.P bottle designed by Colombian recording artist Maluma. Although the new packaging continues the partnership between the Colombian Maluma and Hennessy, it is the first time a musician has created a limited edition bottle for the brand.

In an affront to blanding, Maluma’s bottle finds inspiration in his Latin American heritage, featuring a vibrant color palette dominated by a range of reds and blues with a touch of yellow. The tall and colorful columns are reminiscent of Medellín neighborhoods like those in Comuna 13. The box features the same vibrant colors with Maluma’s logo on the bottom of the front panel and his signature in neon at the top, while the middle includes the customary Hennessy V.S.O.P elements.

“Having the opportunity to be the first recording artist to design a limited-edition Hennessy V.S.O.P bottle is a representation of never stopping and never settling to represent our Latin culture globally with passion, dedication, and honor,” Maluma said in a press release. “Our beautiful, diverse, and blended Latin culture inspired the vibrant colors and tones of my design for the bottle. I wanted to represent the warm hospitality of our people and how we enjoy life through music, family values, and our culture’s history.”
