Gravallese Co. Grooming's Packaging Inspires Consumers To Put Their Best Hair Forward

"Take care," a casual greeting and simple gesture, grew into a more meaningful motto throughout this project. To create a brand and packaging that reminds folks to take care of themselves, the planet, and our communities.
Master barber, Vinnie Gravallese, put his namesake into the brand Gravallese Co. With 100 years of barbering heritage behind him informing the product performance, and an unwavering pursuit for a plant-based self-care routine. He approached Commence Studio to design the brand identity, packaging, and website for the line of grooming products gearing up for release.
Made by barbers for both themselves and those in the chairs before them. Gravallese Co. is an inclusive brand with packaging created to give an elegant gender-neutral presence to the counter of those folks with and without beards separating itself from the hyper-masculine grooming culture.
For products created with meticulously researched natural ingredients, we built an organic brand narrative and a visual identity that reflects attention to detail. Each product features a different color set in earthy chic tones and illustrations we created to highlight the key ingredients intermingled with strong and powerful animals personifying delicacy and grace.
Complimenting the distinct custom type of the wordmark that champions the front of the packaging, we utilized the lid space and sides of labels to provide more detailed information for each product and recognition for customers.
We designed this packaging to feel like a nice vintage coat that inspires you to build a more stylish wardrobe around it, appreciating its history as well as its new life in your wardrobe to make it your own. Letting grooming products be a conscious way folks start their day to put their best hair forward out into the world.
