Spam Releases Limited Edition Figgy Pudding Just In Time For The Holidays

Published

Hormel Foods Corporation was founded in 1891, and they’ve always been in the business of packaging up meat and selling it. In 1937, the innovative brand added the beloved Spam product to its lineup. While Spam gained popularity after its use in World War II, it had a particular knack for remaining relevant, even jumping in on the pumpkin spice bandwagon

Hormel’s latest stunt with the canned cooked pork product is a seasonal holiday rendition better known as “Figgy Pudding” Spam. For the unfamiliar, Figgy pudding isn’t just some throwaway line in “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” It’s a cake-inspired dessert and mainstay of British holiday tables known for its fusion of fruit cake and gingerbread flavors soaked in brandy.

Spam Figgy Pudding is canned meat infused with traditional British Christmas dessert flavors. Because figgy pudding is classically created with beef fat, the limited-edition release makes a bit of sense. The classic and recognizable Spam tin inspires the packaging, but this limited-edition release comes adorned with holiday-inspired mistletoe. Although, you just might want to steer clear from the real mistletoe after chowing down Spam.

This limited-edition, seasonal Spam Figgy Pudding is available now while supplies last in two-packs of 12-ounce cans at Spam.com, Amazon.com, and Walmart.com. The suggested retail price is $10.
