Despite recreational cannabis being legal in 19 states, DC, and Guam, folks are still being arrested for possession and in prison for something millions of Americans enjoy freely. According to FBI statistics, over 32% of drug possession arrests are for cannabis, which means many people are still going to prison in 2022 for possessing a plant that is legal throughout much of the country.
Freedom Grams is a non-profit initiative to address the continued injustice of cannabis-related imprisonment. Proceeds from the sales of cannabis from partners go towards supporting The Last Prisoner Project, which advocates reform, and assists prisoners in obtaining clemency, compassionate release, resentencing, and re-entry into society, including paths to employment within the legal cannabis industry.
