Alice Mushrooms today announces the launch of its decadent functional mushroom chocolates and lifestyle brand. Alice aims to enhance your daily routine by creating mushroom experiences delicious enough to look forward to each day, while also delivering immediate benefits.
For the past two years, Alice has collaborated with homeopathic doctors, formulators and generational chocolatiers to concoct a daily treat that would deliver the benefits of functional mushrooms in a form people would actually enjoy. The results: Brainstormand Nightcap, chocolate bites that combine functional mushrooms with additional adaptogens and nootropics to create an instant sensation other functional mushroom products do not have.

Brainstorm combines Lion’s Mane and Cordyceps mushrooms with guarana and phosphatidylserine to create a mouthwatering, clean boost of energy, focus and clarity without the crash. Nightcap uses Reishi, magnesium, zinc, chamomile and L-theanine to create a dozey dose of decadent chocolate for restful evenings, deep sleep and a calm mind. Consumers can purchase Alice chocolates and gear D2C at https://alicemushrooms.com. 16-day tins of Brainstorm and Nightcap chocolates are $29 each.

Alice is the result of a partnership between Lindsay Goodstein, a creative director, community-builder, and former pharmaceutical executive who has spent years studying mushrooms, and Charlotte Cruze, a food scholar, wellness authority and digital marketing expert who has built inventive, forward-thinking food brands. Sharing an enthusiasm to make people feel their best, a passion for the the power of mushrooms and a frustration with every other mushroom product they tried, the pair set out to create something they would want to consume themselves. “We wanted to make health fun and enjoyable—not something that feels like a chore or a punishment. It should feel like a treat, because it is a treat and a blessing to be able to take care of yourself. So let’s celebrate it,” says Goodstein.

While many mushroom products use mycelium, fillers and inferior extraction processes, Alice products use organic, 100% fruiting body mushrooms that are hand-harvested when their medicinal compounds are at peak concentration. The mushrooms are then dried in the sun to soak up vitamin D before undergoing a pure, starch-free extraction process. “The only way we can change the food system is by corporations making different and better decisions that aren’t just about their bottom line. We are a small corporation doing the right thing, but soon we will be a huge corporation doing the right thing, and we will be able to make a real difference in the supply chain,” says Cruze.

Although Alice products focus on the many benefits of functional mushrooms, Goodstein and Cruze are also passionate about the benefits of psilocybin mushrooms and their ability to heal trauma, help with everyday issues and bring people joy. That’s why Alice is a founding member of the Microdosing Collective, a non-profit dedicated to legalizing the microdosing of psychedelics and pursuing research-backed, community-driven and evidence based outcomes. Alice will also donate a portion of its profits to The Hope Project, a non-profit that connects military spouses, female veterans and gold star wives with counseling, support and community around psychedelic healing journeys.
