Ferry-Morse’s ‘Break Up Gift Box’ Is For Singles On Valentine’s Day

Published

According to research by Pew, the number of unpartnered adults—meaning they are neither married nor cohabiting with a partner—is on the rise. According to a recent study, Pew found that 38% of adults ages 25-54 are unpartnered, i.e., the researcher’s word for single. So while it may seem like everyone around you is in love around Valentine’s Day, there’s a nearly 4-in-10 chance that person you see is single.

For those singles out there, gardening brand Ferry-Morse offers its first-ever Break Up Gift Box, a curated set of flower seeds, and almost everything needed to grow them. Seeds include Amaranth Love Lies Bleeding, Bachelor Button Cyanus, Cosmos Sensation, Forget Me Not, Morning Glory Scarlett O’Hara, Carnation Chabaud, and Snapdragon First Ladies. The Break Up Gift Box also includes peat pellet greenhouse trays, SUPERthrive plant vitamin sample, flower markers, a journal, and stickers.

On the top of the box sits a heart with a potted rose on top and a banner across it reading “Love Stinks.” Underneath the heart copy reads, “Flowers smell better.” The stickers include light-hearted graphics and puns like “Grow Flowers. Not Feelings,” “Leaf me alone,” and “It’s thyme to move on.”

“Breakups, no matter how they happen, stink. But that doesn’t mean you need to be deprived of Valentine’s Day flowers,” said Rebecca Sears, chief gardening guru for Ferry-Morse, via press release. “We think our ‘Break Up Gift Box’ can ignite a new passionate love affair—for gardening. As with every relationship, gardening comes with ups and downs, but Ferry-Morse is there every step of the way, and when you have a beautiful flower garden grown from a few seeds, no romance will beat the joy and fulfillment it brings.”

The Break Up Gift Box is available for pre-order and starts shipping on January 26th.
