Get Your Spice On With Fancy Hank's Seasoning Tins

Like great packaging design, seasoning can take something from bland to outstanding in a flash. Fancy Hank's packaging and spices understood the assignment as both are extraordinary. Designed by Contain, these spice and condiment containers utilize color typography to make an intriguing design that's simple yet thoroughly refreshing.

Known for their smokehouse meats, American sides and sauces, Fancy Hank's is home to Melbourne’s Finest barbecue. The team at Fancy Hank’s take pride in cooking locally sourced free-range meats in their two tonne custom built smoker for over 22 hours ensuring every bite packs a punch.

When expanding their product range, we were engaged to design their new range of seasoning tins. Our task was to develop a bespoke and unique container with a strong shelf presence that honours the brand’s bold personality. The success of the sauce range and its hip flask reference led us to develop a cigarette shaped seasoning tin. Custom formed in Aluminium (rust resistant to salt), with a bespoke, injection moulded split lid. Blind embossed details add subtle messaging and grip texture to the side of the tins.

Contrasting matte and gloss finishes form a highly tactile surface with sections of aluminium revealed creating the illusion of a foil embellishment. These details catch light and create bold reflections for greater shelf presence.
