IKEA Wants to Make Your Room Smell Beefier With Meatball-Inspired Candle

IKEA has unveiled a unique candle inspired by a popular cafe item. It’s not Lingonberry, though that would probably smell delicious, nor is the new candle scent based on hot dogs, thankfully. The latest in novelty candle scents comes from another popular and longtime beloved Swedish favorite from IKEA kitchens—meatballs.
HUVUDROLL candles promise to fill the air with the warm and beefy aroma that’s been a part of the IKEA shopping experience since 1985, and the label sports the same minimal style as those stuck to boxes of BILLY shelves, MALM bed frames, and the ubiquitous KALLAX nooks. The candles will be given away as part of its IKEA Family 10th anniversary promotion as a runners-up prize, along with grand prize “IKEA in a Box” sets. Thankfully, the candle comes assembled and ready-to-light and requires no Allen key to enjoy.
IKEA joins other brands with meaty and savory candle scents, such as McDonald’s and KFC. The notion of filling up a room with the smell of meat can be offputting for some, but the novelty has proven to be a surefire way to garner attention, though some concepts are better left unexecuted, thank you very much.
