Starbucks and FILA Drop New Collab Merch, Prompts Karen to Ask For the Manager

Fans of coffee chain Starbucks don’t just anticipate seasonal pumpkinized drinks-devoted customers also eagerly await new merchandise that accompanies the beverages, looking forward to new tumblers, mugs, accessories, and clothing. The offerings on the shelf aren’t homogenous across the globe, with the US merch being a more Karen-friendly affair. The Siren’s merch in some of its other markets is frankly better and more stylish, especially in Asia.
For summer 2021, Starbucks fans in Asian markets such as Hong Kong, Macau, and The Philippines are getting treated to a unique and first-ever collaboration with fashion brand FILA. The Starbucks x FILA collection includes tumblers, totes, bags, and other lifestyle accessories featuring the sportswear’s signature dark blue, red, and white colorways mixed with the beverage vessels also sporting the coffee chain’s logo.
“Starbucks is excited to partner with FILA for the first time in this bold new collection,” said Erin Silvoy, vice president of product and marketing at Starbucks Asia Pacific, in a press release. “The Starbucks X FILA collection unites Starbucks’ mission to nurture the human spirit and FILA’s legacy of celebrating athletics and the collective good. We can’t wait to share these limited-edition items with our customers across the region.”
The Starbucks X FILA collab is available now in Starbucks’ Asian stores, but would it kill the coffee chain to throw its home market a bone with cool merch? We aren’t all obnoxious Tik-Tok teens and soul-sucking Karens, after all.
