Iris Kuang is a student at RMIT University, and as part of her Associate Degree in Graphic Design, she took 2D and 3D Design Production with instructor Claudia Bergsdorf. In this class, she was required to invent her own brand and package design of a product of her choice. With this much creative freedom, often it’s hard to know where to begin, but Iris made it look simple with candle company Wanderland.
Inspired by Cuba, the color palette and iconography represent the country’s vibrant culture. The map of Cuba is found on the front of both the box and the candle. Additionally, the pattern found on the box is beautifully designed. The colors, waves, and textures flow seamlessly and are genuinely evocative of the Caribbean culture of Cuba.
