Gareth Fitzpatrick, a Norwich University of the Arts student, studies graphic design and recently created the concept brand Oscuro. In Spanish, the word “oscuro” translates in English to “dark.” Thus Gareth was inspired to create a dark and perplexing bottle that elevates this mysterious black pepper tequila. Gareth has done just that through an almost-black navy, crisp white, and gold color palette combined with intricate illustrations and elegant typography. If we’re honest, which we are, I’m not a huge tequila fan, and the idea of making a tequila with black pepper makes me want to sneeze instantly, but this elegant packaging design for Oscuro gives me enough gusto to want to give this tequila a chance.
